A RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISIONS TO THE 2016 INDIAN HOUSING PLAN RELATED TO HUD-VASH RENTAL ASSISTANCE

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has been awarded a HUD-VASH Demonstration Project to provide rental assistance for qualifying Native American Veterans;
WHEREAS, the award must be incorporated into the Indian Housing Plan for submission to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development;
WHEREAS, the 2016 Indian Housing Plan was approved by Resolution No. 50-15 on August 17, 2015, and the Indian Housing Plan now needs to be amended;
WHEREAS, the needed changes are to incorporated on “Attachment 1” hereto.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the changes to the 2016 Indian Housing Plan are approved to be incorporated in a revised 2016 Indian Housing Plan, along with any conforming changes directly related to such changes and no others, and submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
