A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FIVE TRACTS OF DAY SCHOOL LAND IN FEE
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation authorizes the acceptance in Fee for Cherokee Nation of five tracts of land identified as former Day Schools lying within Cherokee Nation. The Day Schools are Cave Springs School in Cherokee County, Oak Hill School (Piney) in Delaware County, Ballou School in Mayes County, Mulberry Hollow School in Adair County and Redbird Smith School in Sequoyah County. These five Day School properties are determined by Eastern Oklahoma Region, Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Department of the Interior, to be eligible for transfer to Cherokee Nation in fee status. The former day school properties are further described as follows:

Section 35, NE4 SW4 SW4.

Township 22 North, Range 24 East,
Section 15, NE4 SE4 SW4.

Township 19 North, Range 20 East,
Section 16, SE4 NE4 NW4.
