A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION HEALTH PROGRAM TO DONATE AN AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) TO WESTVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL LOCATED IN ADAIR COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Health Program has the following automated external defibrillator (AED) that has been deemed as surplus:

WHEREAS, Westville Public School located within the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries in Adair County is in need of an automated external defibrillator (AED);
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X Section 7 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation: The Cherokee Nation shall not make any donations by gift, bonus, or otherwise to any individual, firm, company, corporation, or association without the approval of the Council;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; the Tribal Council hereby approves the donation of the above described surplus and authorizes the Cherokee Nation Health Program to donate the above item to Westville Public School located in Adair County.
