A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION HEALTH SERVICES TO DONATE A SURPLUS AMBULANCE TO THE CITY OF WESTVILLE'S EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation EMS Department has an ambulance which is surplus to their needs and its donation to a worthy organization would be beneficial to the Cherokee Nation;
Asset Description: 2001, Ford E450 Ambulance
WHEREAS, the Westville EMS is a state licensed ambulance service and has expressed a desire to place this ambulance in service at their department;
WHEREAS, this ambulance could provide lifesaving transportation to Cherokee citizens and others in the Westville, Oklahoma service area;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; the Tribal Council hereby approves the donation of the above described surplus and authorizes the Cherokee Nation Health Services to donate the above item to the city of Westville located in Adair County.
