A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION TO LEASE TRIBAL TRUST LAND TO CC CAMP COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION LOCATED ON CMS-8A (CHERRY TREE RED GYM & BALL FIELDS) CONTAINING 26.48 ACRES M/L

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the CC Camp Community Organization wishes to lease the Cherry Tree Red Gym & Ball Fields for a term of twenty-five (25) years beginning in 2016. The Tribal Trust tract is located on part of CMS-8A, being part of the NW¼ of Section 27, T15N, R25E, Adair County OK, containing 26.48 acres more or less, and will be leased for $1.00 per year;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation requests that the appraisal be waived and pursuant to regulations contained in 25 CFR 162, the bond be waived by tribal council Resolution.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described leasing, with the appraisal and bond waived, in accordance with 25 CFR § 162 and the Bureau of Indian Affairs policy and procedure for leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
