A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RENOMINATION OF STEVEN M. WILSON AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION TAX COMMISSION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission Board of Commissioners was created and authorized be Title 68 §11 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated;

WHEREAS, the term of office for Steven M. Wilson’s term as Commissioner has ended;

WHEREAS, Steven M. Wilson is duly qualified to fill this position and should be reappointed, pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby confirms Steven M. Wilson as a commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission, with a term beginning February, 2017 and ending February, 2020.
