A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH AN AUTHORIZE ANOTHER FULL TIME POSITION FOR CHEROKEE NATION'S STILWELL HUMAN SERVICES

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, safety and well-being of the Cherokee Nation and its communities and citizens is a high priority to the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and,
WHEREAS, there are major needs for Cherokee human services in Adair Country which justifies the need for another full time position in Cherokee Nation’s Stilwell Human Services and also adding funding for that budget to fund this position which is suggested amount of $35,000; and,
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to approve this resolution and therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby establishes another position for Cherokee Nation Stilwell Human Services and also establishes an addition to that division’s budget to fund this position for $35,000.
