A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF DEWAYNE MARSHALL AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government-to-government relationship with the United States of America; and,

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education was established by Cherokee Nation Resolution No. 72-86; and

WHEREAS, the appointed members of the board are authorized by Article II Section 1 of Resolution No. 72-86 to appoint one (1) member to the board; and,

WHEREAS, the members of the board have selected Dewayne Marshall to serve as the fifth member of the board, upon approval by the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and

WHEREAS, Dewayne Marshall is duly qualified to serve on Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Dewayne Marshall is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education, for a term of five (5) years, commencing April, 2017 until April, 2021.
