A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CHEROKEE NATION TRUST LANDS TO MUTUAL-HELP HOME PARTICIPANTS IN TRUST
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has acquired properties located in Delaware County owned by the United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation, said properties were purchased in June 1938, pursuant to the provision of Section 1 of the Oklahoma Act of June 26, 1936;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has set aside certain areas of Trust lands in Delaware County in Resolution 22-84 to be leased for the construction of Mutual-Help Homes for individuals, Cherokee Nation has established the SW Kenwood subdivision on a part of this acquired property in Delaware County;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has established multiple housing Subdivisions on part of these acquired properties in Delaware County and desires to transfer the following Mutual Help-Home sites to the participants in Trust, according to legal plats of the Surveys as follows:

WHEREAS, The Cherokee Nation desires to transfer title from the United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation to the aforementioned Mutual Help-Home participants in Trust, under the provisions Title 25 Code of Federal Regulations.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request the Secretary of Interior to transfer the above tracts of real property in Trust to Individuals, in accordance with Bureau of Indian...
