Title

A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF JAMES AMOS AS COMMISSIONER OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CHEROKEE NATION BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

 

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation was created and authorized by Section 1057 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes;

 

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to select the members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;

 

WHEREAS, James Amos is hereby nominated for reappointment as authorized by the Bylaws of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation and Section 1058 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and

 

WHEREAS, James Amos is duly qualified to fill this position pursuant to the Bylaws of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation.

 

                      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that James Amos is hereby confirmed as a Commissioner of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation as authorized by the Bylaws of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation and Section 1058 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes for a term of 3 (three) years beginning November 31, 2017 until November 31, 2020.
