A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION TO DONATE A MODULAR OFFICE BUILDING TO PROJECT A ASSOCIATION LOCATED IN MUSKOGEE COUNTY

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has a modular office building that has been deemed as surplus; and

WHEREAS, Project A is located within the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries is a non-profit and participating Cherokee community organization through Cherokee Nation Community and Cultural Outreach; and

WHEREAS, Project A has use for the modular office building for the use of classrooms; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X Section 7 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation: The Cherokee Nation shall not make any donations by gift, bonus, or otherwise to any individual, firm, company, corporation, or association without the approval of the Council;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; the Tribal Council hereby approves the donation of the above described item and authorizes the Cherokee Nation to donate the above item to Project A located in Muskogee County.
