A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF J. BLAKE FLETCHER AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION ENVIORNMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic continual government-to-government relationship with the United State of America;
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Commission was created and authorized by Title 27 Section 101 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA);
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to select members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and
WHEREAS, J. Blake Fletcher is duly qualified and should be reappointed as a Commissioner pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby confirms J. Blake Fletcher as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission for a term beginning July 2018 and expiring July 2021, as authorized by Title 27 Section 101 (B) of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA).
