A RESOLUTION APPOINTING __________________ TO THE CHEROKEE NATION ELECTED OFFICIALS CITIZEN COMMITTEE
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, Legislative Act 40-07 as amended by Legislative Acts 05-11, 10-12 and 01-15 calls upon the Tribal Council to appoint two (2) members to a citizen committee, who together with other opportunities, will recommend salaries for elected officials of the Cherokee Nation; and,
WHEREAS, _______________ is a Cherokee citizen with excellent qualifications and has ethical standards; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council and the Cherokee Nation as a whole would benefit from the appointment of someone of such high qualifications to this position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cherokee Nation through its Tribal Council, that _______________ be appointed to the Elected Officials Citizen Committee in accordance with Legislative Act 40-07 as amended by Legislative Acts 05-11, 10-12 and 01-15.
