A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION HEALTH SERVICES TO DONATE A NATURAL GAS GENERATOR AND COMPONENTS TO MARYETTA SCHOOL

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people; and

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Health Services has a natural gas generator (Generac Brand , 100KW , Model # 94A03739-S), an engine (Chevy 7.4, 454 CI SER# 76785) and a transfer switch (Generac Brand, 420 amps, 250 volts SER# 26860: Model #94A03739-W)  located at the Wilma P. Mankiller Stillwell Clinic that has been deemed surplus; and

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Health Services desires to donate this equipment in “as- is” condition with Cherokee Nation and/or its entities not assisting with and/or disassembling the items for transport or delivery; and

 

WHEREAS, Maryetta School located within the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries, operates on limited funds and the donation of this natural gas generator and components would benefit them greatly; and

 

WHEREAS, Maryetta School will arrange for the transport and reassembly of the items from the Wilma P. Mankiller Stilwell Clinic.

                                          

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes Cherokee Nation Health Services to donate these surplus items to Maryetta School in Adair County as set out above.
