A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REVISIONS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2021 INDIAN HOUSING PLAN TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

 

WHEREAS, the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 requires a tribe to adopt a one-year plan for each fiscal year’s funding;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation must submit an Indian Housing Plan in a form prescribed by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to receive its Fiscal Year 2021 housing funding allocation;

 

WHEREAS, the 2021 Indian Housing Plan was approved by Resolution No. 18-20 on June 25, 2020, and the Indian Housing Plan now needs to be amended;

 

WHEREAS, the proposed amendments to the 2021 Indian Housing Plan meets the Cherokee Nation priorities and fulfills HUD requirements for approval. 

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the attached amendments to the Indian Housing Plan are approved to be incorporated in a revised 2021 Indian Housing Plan, along with any conforming changes directly related to such changes and no other, and submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
