A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF LYNDON EMBERTON AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government-to-government relationship with the United States of America; and,

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education was established by Cherokee Nation Resolution No. 72-86; and

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized by Article II Section 1 of Resolution No. 72-86 to appoint two (2) members to the board; and,

WHEREAS, Lyndon Emberton is duly qualified to serve on Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education, seat four (4), and has been selected by the Principal Chief; and therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Lyndon Emberton is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education, for a term of five (5) years, commencing February 16, 2021 and ending February 28^th 2026
