A RESOLUTION RENEWING THE CHARTER OF THE TSUNADELOQUASDI CHEROKEE IMMERSION SCHOOL AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT WITH THE TSUNADELOQUASDI CHEROKEE IMMERSION SCHOOL BOARD
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian tribe that is elibible to sponsor a charter school pursuant to the Oklahoma Charter Schools Act, 70 O.S. ? 3-132 (7);

WHEREAS, in TR-52-11, the Tribal Council approved the creation of the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School, a tribally operated charter school located within the Nation;

WHEREAS, the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School is committed to building leaders to build our Nation by producing Cherokee Cherokee speakers who will become leaders witin their families, communities and Nation;

WHEREAS, also in TR-52-11, the Tribal Council granted the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School a Charter ("Charter") and approved the the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School Board Contract ("Contract");

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of both documents, the Charter and Contract will expire on June 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School meets the requirements under the Oklahoma Charter Schools Act, 70 O.S. ?? 3-130, et seq. and the Contract to renew the Charter.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation renews the Cherokee Nation Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School's charter, attached hereto; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation approves the contract with the the Tsunadeloquasdi Cherokee Immersion School Board, attached hereto and vests power to the Principal Chief to execute any...
