A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF STUART GRAYSON AS A MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION FOUNDATION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic continual government-to-government relationship with the United State of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Foundation was formed as a nonprofit corporation for the promotion of education to members of the Cherokee Nation, to provide educational assistance to members of the Cherokee Nation and to promote and preserve the language, culture and history of the Nation;

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to select members of the Board of Directors of the Cherokee Nation Foundation, subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Grayson is duly qualified and should be reappointed as an Board Member pursuant to the Bylaws of the Cherokee Nation Foundation;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby confirms Stuart Grayson as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Foundation for a term beginning September 20^th 2021 and expiring September 20^th 2025.
