Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation authorizes the acceptance in Trust for Cherokee Nation of tracts of land identified as follows: Ballou Day School in Mayes County, Cave Springs (aka Dry Creek) Day School in Cherokee County, Mulberry Hollow Day School in Adair County, Oak Hill (aka Piney) Day School in Delaware County, Oaks Mission (aka Rocky Ford) Day School in Cherokee County, and Redbird Smith Day School in Sequoyah County. The above listed Day Schools have been determined by Eastern Oklahoma Region, Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Department of the Interior, to be eligible for transfer to United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation under 40 U.S.C. ?523 (a). The former day school properties are further described as follows:

Ballou Day School
Township 19 North, Range 20 East, Mayes County, I.B.&M;
Section 16 SE4 NE4 NW4, Containing 10 acres, more or less;

Cave Springs (aka Dry Creek) Day School
Township 15 North, Range 23 East, Cherokee County, I.B.&M;
Section 35 NE4 SW4 SW4, Containing 10 acres, more or less;

Mulberry Hollow Day School
Township 16 North, Range 24 East, Adair County, I.B.&M;
Section 13 That part of Section 13 beginning at the section corner between Sections 13, 18, 19, and 24;
