A RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISIONS TO THE 2008 INDIAN HOUSING PLAN RELATED TO ARRA/STIMULUS FUNDING

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has received Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009;
WHEREAS, the use of the NAHASDA funds were incorporated into the 2008 Indian Housing Plan by Resolution No. 23-09 on March 16, 2009 and the IHP now needs to be amended;
WHEREAS, the needed changes are incorporated on "Attachment 1".
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the changes to the 2008 IHP are approved to be incorporated in a revised 2008 IHP, along with any conforming changes directly related to such changes and no others, and submitted to the Department of HUD.
