A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF INHERITED PROPERTY IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has inherited a condominium in the State of California by virtue of the Last Will and Testament of Elsie Wood Myer through The Elsie Wood Myer Living Trust;
WHEREAS, the Last Will and Testament and The Elsie Wood Myer Living Trust expressed the intent the resources be used for education;
WHEREAS, the property is Unit 6E located at 1001 Genter Street, #6E, La Jolla, California 92037;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to have said property sold.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to sell said parcel of land in accordance with the laws and regulations of Cherokee Nation and the State of California.
