A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUSINESS LEASE ON TRUST LAND IN KAY COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services has advertised for bid to lease a one acre tract on trust land at the Southeast corner of Highway 77 and the State Line in Section 13, Township 29 North, Range 2 East, Kay County, Oklahoma for a fireworks stand;
WHEREAS, the fireworks stand would be in operation for four weeks every year for a period of five years.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Business Lease in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure and waiving appraisal for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
