A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LEASE OF TRUST LAND IN ROGERS COUNTY FOR A BUSINESS LEASE

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the property adjacent to Interstate 44 and Highway 161^st East Avenue, Rogers County, Oklahoma, Section 34, Township 20 North, Range 14 East, containing seven acres more or less, has been put into trust status;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services proposes to lease 1.2 acres of the seven acre tract to TNT Fireworks for four weeks each year of a five year term for $5000.00 per year.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Business Lease in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
