A RESOLUTION CALLING UPON CHEROKEE NATION BUSINESSES IN CORPORATED/CHEROKEE NATION ENTERTAINMENT TO CONSTRUCT ALL CHEROKEE NATION AND ITS ENTITIES CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS USING ENTIRELY TERO CERTIFIED VENDORS

Body

WHEREAS,      the Cherokee Nation, since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee People; and,

WHEREAS,       the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and

WHEREAS,       the Cherokee Nation has a Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO), that licenses vendors.  The purpose of said TERO office is to provide opportunities to Indian owned businesses and Indian employees for economic betterment of Cherokee people; and,

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation licensed TERO vendors have the capability to construct every aspect of the proposed casino within applicable time frames and at competitive costs; and

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to Cherokee Nation to make this available to TERO vendors that would contribute to communities.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION through its Tribal Council that all Cherokee Nation and its entities construction projects by Cherokee Nation Businesses Incorporated/Cherokee Nation Entertainment, be done entirely by qualified TERO vendors licensed by Cherokee Nation if available.
