A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LEASE OF TRUST LAND IN ADAIR COUNTY TO GREASY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Greasy Fire Department has requested to lease a one acre tract on CMS 8 unit, in Adair County, Section 21, Township 15 North, Range 25 East;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services proposes to lease one acre to Greasy Fire Department for ten years for $1.00 a year.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Lease, with appraisal and any bond to be waived, in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs policy and procedure for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
