A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION TO LEASE TRUST LAND TO TAHLEQUAH HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, Tahlequah Hospital Foundation desires to lease a portion of trust land located adjacent to the Cherokee Nation Redbird Smith Health Clinic Annex in Sequoyah County for a dialysis facility, containing approximately two acres, more or less, for twenty-five years with an option to renew for an additional twenty-five years, for a nominal amount.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council, in order to improve efficiency, authorizes a lease on this trust tract to Tahlequah Hospital Foundation, waiving appraisal and bond, and that Chad Smith, Principal Chief (or his designee) be authorized to negotiate and execute all official matters in this regard.
