Daryl Legg began his professional career with Cherokee Nation in 2006.He graduated from NSU where he obtained his BA degree majoring in Psychology and minoring in Social Welfare. Upon graduation he began working for Cherokee Nation as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. He then was transferred to Employment and Training and then became a Job Developer. In 2009 he was promoted to Director of Vocational Programs and then was made the Director of Economic Development and Reentry.

Assisting with removing barriers to employment is his passion, especially for ex-offenders. Mr. Legg was Instrumental in developing the Coming Home Reentry Program in Career Services and helped hundreds of citizens coming out of prison obtain employment and becoming productive members of society.

In 2014, Daryl was selected by President Obama as a "White House Champion of Change Award" for his efforts in reentry to employment. He also received the Cherokee nation "National Statesmanship of the Year” and was featured on the Osyio TV program.

In 2019 Mr. Legg was elected as the Tribal Councilman for District 6 and again in 2023. Since his time on Tribal Council, he has served as the Chair for Community Services.
