A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LAND IN TRUST - WARNER I-40
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;  
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has acquired a tract of land located in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, more particularly described as follows:
 
All that part of the NE/4 of the NW/4 lying south and east of the Highway Right of way and all of the NE/4 lying south and west of the railroad right of way LESS the SW/4 of the SE/4 of the NE/4 and all of the SE/4 of the NW/4 lying north and east of Highway, all in Section 33, Township 12 North, Range 19 East of the Indian Base & Meridian, Muskogee County, Oklahoma
LESS AND EXCEPT a tract of land in the north half of Section 33, Township 12 North, Range 19 East of the Indian Base & Meridian, Muskogee County, Oklahoma, more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the SE/4 of the NE/4 of said Section 33; thence north along the west line of said SE/4 of NE/4 a distance of 600 feet; thence southwesterly to the east right of way of State Highway No. 2; thence southeasterly along the right of way a distance of 400 feet to the south line of the NE/4; thence east along said line to the point of beginning, containing 90 acres, more or less.
Less and except minerals;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to have said property placed United States of America in Trust for the Cherokee Nation pursuant to Public Law 107-331, Title VI, Section 606, known as the Arkansas Riverbed Settlement Act.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request the Secretary of Interior to place said tract of land in Trust in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure for the acquisition of land.
