A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING A TRIBAL COUNCIL APPOINTMENT TO FILL THE BOARD MEMBER SEAT OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education (the “Board”) was established by Cherokee Nation Resolution No. 72-86 and amended by CN Resolution 10-17 and codified under legislative act LA-45-21(“the Code”) and amended by LA-23-24; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the previous rules of the Board and the newly adopted Code, the Tribal Council is authorized to appoint two (2) members of the Board; and
WHEREAS, ______________, is duly qualified to fill Seat two (2) on the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education; and
THEREFORE, ____________, is appointed to fill Seat two (2) on the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education for a term of three (3) years pursuant to the Code.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that _____________ is hereby appointed and confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board for the term of three (3) years starting March 10, 2025 through March 10, 2028.
