A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION #09-08, CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF DAN AGENT AS AN EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE PHOENIX

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Free and Independent Press for the Cherokee Nation, Editorial Board was created and authorized by Legislative Act 11-00;

WHEREAS, Dan Agent is nominated by the Principal Chief to serve a term as an Editorial Board Member of the Cherokee Phoenix effective January 2008 through January October 2011, as authorized by Legislative Act 11-00;

WHEREAS, Dan Agent is duly qualified to fill this vacancy pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.

      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Dan Agent is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Editorial Board of the Cherokee Phoenix for a term effective January, 2008 through January-October, 2011 as authorized by Legislative Act 11-00, the Act of July 17, 2000.
