A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS CLEAN AIR PROGRAM TO DONATE A SURPLUS PORTABLE BUILDING TO KAW NATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the CNEP Air Monitoring Program has ceased operations at the Newkirk, OK monitoring site and no longer has any use for the portable building at that location;
WHEREAS, the CNEP Air Monitoring Program is already storing another unused building and has limited space to store another;
WHEREAS, the Kaw Nation is in need of a building for their air monitoring program and is located near the Newkirk site, and have offered to move the building themselves;
WHEREAS, the building is configured for air monitoring activities and would likely be inappropriate for another use;
WHEREAS, the CNEP Air Monitoring Program would much rather see this building in use by another Tribe than sitting in storage;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council authorizes the CNEP Air Monitoring Program to donate the Shelter One portable building (serial number 21107) to Kaw Nation.
