A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LAND IN TRUST - THREE RIVERS HEALTH CENTER, MUSKOGEE

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has acquired a tract of land located in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, more particularly described as follows:
The W2 NW4 SE4 & E2 NW4 SE4 less 10.27 acres for Highway Rights of Way all in Section 32, Township 15 North, Range 19 East, I.B.&M., Muskogee County. Oklahoma, containing 29.98 acres more or less.
LESS AND EXCEPT MINERALS.
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to have said property placed United States of America in Trust for the Cherokee Nation. Three Rivers Health Center is located on said property, which opened to serve clients March, 2008.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request the Secretary of Interior to place said tract of land in Trust in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure for the acquisition of land.
