A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION REAL ESTATE SERVICES TO LEASE TRUST LAND TO BELL DEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #33 AND TO WAIVE APPRAISAL

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Board of Education, Bell Dependent School District #33, Adair County, Oklahoma, has requested to renew a lease for 12.5 acres, more or less, for the purpose of a ballfield, track and parking area for the next twenty-five years for $1.00 a year;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services request to waive the appraisal for this unit described as:
S2NWSWSW: SWNESWSW; W2SESWSW of Section 32, Township 15 North,
Range 26 East, Adair County, Oklahoma.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council, in order to improve efficiency, grants the Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services Department authority to lease this trust unit for $1.00 a year for the next twenty-five years with appraisal waived and that Chad Smith, Principal Chief (or his designee) be authorized to negotiate and execute all official matters in this regard.
