A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RENOMINATION OF FOREMAN ROSS AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education was created and authorized by Cherokee Nation Resolution No. 72-86;
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint Office #3 seat on the Board, subject to the majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, the appointment of members of the Board, replacing that portion of #36-89 previously addressing the appointment of said Board members, is provided for in Legislative Act 4-02;
WHEREAS, Foreman Ross has been selected to be renominated by the Principal Chief.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Foreman Ross is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education for the term of (5) five years from September 2009 until September 2014.
