A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF ANGEL GOODRICH, A CITIZEN OF THE CHEROKEE NATION, FOR HER OUTSTANDING ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is beneficial for the Cherokee Nation to advance the quality of life of its citizens and for all peoples of Oklahoma; and,
WHEREAS, it is always important to recognize the achievements of our Cherokee Nation Youth who show great skills, accomplishments, and examples for others; and
WHEREAS, we want recognize Angel Goodrich, a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation for her outstanding athletic accomplishments at the University of Kansas leading the Kansas Lady Jayhawks to the Elite 8 Finals in 2012 NCAA Women's National Championship; and therefore,      
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council hereby recognizes Angel Goodrich, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation for her outstanding athletic accomplishments at the University of Kansas and for her ability to set an example for other Cherokee Nation Youth.
