A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A REQUEST TO THE INDIAN HEALTH SERVICES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2014 IHS JOINT VENTURE CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE TAHLEQUAH HOSPITAL
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has determined that a need exists for hospital construction in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation wishes to seek the staffing and operations funding for this hospital construction by participating in the Indian Health Service Joint Venture Construction Program; and
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation agrees to purchase the necessary equipment and provide the construction of the facility to be located in Tahlequah for this project.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes Cherokee Nation Health Services to participate in the 2014 Indian Health Service Joint Venture Construction Program, and that the Principal Chief (or his designee) shall be authorized to execute all official documents in this regard.
