A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEVELOPMENT AND SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION TO SECURE FUNDING FOR INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HEALTH FACILITIES

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Administration provides funding through the Investments for Public Works and Economic Development Facilities to address infrastructure needs;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to expand Health Facilities within the Jurisdictional area, based on citizen need;
WHEREAS, existing infrastructure is inadequate to support Health Facility expansion;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that a grant application to the Economic Development Administration be developed and submitted to address infrastructure needs.
