A RESOLUTION CREATING OVERSIGHT AND EXPENDITURE CONTROL OF FUNDS FOR YOUTH SPORTS AND COUNTY LIVESTOCK AUCTION ACTIVITIES BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CHEROKEE NATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has a vested interest in Cherokee Nation youth and their activities which provide resources to learn the benefits of sports competition and livestock exhibits and auctions as well as other activities and provide learning and the spirit of hard work and competition; and,
WHEREAS, to support this commitment and in order to oversee the budgets that fund these activities, oversight and expenditure control of all remaining funds under accounting units 1010025-Cherokee Sports Teams and 1010026-County Livestock Auctions for FY 2013 and all future funding should be placed with the Council from Line Item #750000 Contributions and donations and current policies shall be reviewed and amended by the Council as deemed necessary; and, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that to support this commitment to Cherokee Nation Youth and in order to oversee the budgets that fund these activities, oversight and expenditure control of all remaining funds under accounting units 1010025-Cherokee Sports Teams and 1010026 County Livestock Auctions for FY 2013 and all future funding shall be placed with the Council from Line Item #750000-Contributions and Donations and current policies shall be reviewed and amended by the Council as deemed necessary.
