A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF MATT ANDERSON AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATIONAL HISTORICAL SOCIETY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee National Historical Society Board of Directors was created and authorized by Legislative Act 20-20;
WHEREAS, Matt Anderson is nominated by the Tribal Council to serve an initial six-year term as an Board Member of the Cherokee National Historical Society from January, 2021 through January, 2027, as authorized by Legislative Act 20-20; and
WHEREAS, Matt Anderson is duly qualified to fill this vacancy pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Matt Anderson is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee National Historical Society for a six-year term effective January, 2021 through January, 2027 as authorized by Legislative Act 20-20, the Cherokee Heritage Center Act of 2020 effective September 24, 2020.
