A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RENOMINATION OF SHANNON D. BUHL AS MARSHAL FOR THE CHEROKEE NATION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article VII, Section 14 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint the Marshal subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;

WHEREAS, Shannon D. Buhl is duly qualified to fill the position of Marshal as specified in Article VII, Section 14 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation and is hereby nominated for reappointment; and therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Shannon D. Buhl is confirmed as the Marshal for the Cherokee Nation for a term of five (5) years beginning December 2021 and ending December 2026.
